  1. Youth Empowerment Programmes (YEP)

Specific Objectives

  • Train and incubate at least 1,000 youths entrepreneurs over three years;

  • Provide seed funding and technical support to at least 300 viable ventures;

  • Facilitate access to markets, finance, and business networks;

  • Promote innovation in agriculture, digital economy, and local industries;

  • Promote entrepreneurship training and capacity-building;

  • Facilitate business incubation and mentorship by industry experts;

  • Implement competitive selection and funding of bankable projects;

  • Establish enterprise support hubs;

  • Develop partnerships with financial institutions and the private sectors;

  • Develop an expert monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) system. 

Expected Results and Impact

  • Creation of at least 300+ sustainable Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises per year;

  • Generation of 1000 - 2000 direct and indirect jobs for each successful programme;

  • Increased youth income and economic participation;

  • Strengthened local value chains and innovation ecosystems;

  • Scalable model for youth empowerment across Nigeria, and sub-Saharan Africa with emphasis on sustainability and local content.

Implementation Strategy

The project will be implemented in phases:

  • Pilot phases (Year 1). Selection, training and initial funding. 

  • Expansion Phase (Years 2-3): Scaling successful enterprises.

  • Sustainability Phase: Linking beneficiaries to long-term financing, markets and strategic partnerships with government agencies, financial institutions, and development partners.
