He holds a PhD in Finance from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), and a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Risk and Investment Managers of Nigeria (IPRIMN).
He currently serves as Head of Operations at Fidelity Bank PLC, where he provides strategic and operational leadership across financial operations, cash management, compliance and control, performance monitoring, customer service, process improvement, and operational efficiency. His professional career spans banking, microfinance, insurance, treasury operations, public-sector institutions, and legislative support, giving him a broad and practical understanding of financial management and institutional development.
Dr. Onyegiri is passionate about youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, capacity building, and sustainable economic development. He is committed to initiatives that strengthen institutions, support emerging entrepreneurs, promote financial inclusion, and contribute to inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
His research and professional interests include financial performance, risk management, microfinance, corporate governance, financial inclusion, economic development, and institutional sustainability. He brings together strong academic scholarship, professional expertise, leadership experience, and practical industry knowledge to contribute meaningfully to organisational growth and socio-economic development.
